I have this list of ficpics, right?

I decided to keep a running tally of everyone that I know that wrote fics about one of these pics.

So, [info]g_myzo, do you mind if I put "Bus Stop" on the list (that is so a ficpic...)? And I know I've got one from [info]skyangel2009, but I really thought I had one with two fics about it, but I can't remember which one it might have been....

Anyway, yes, I do plan on posting it at some point. I just don't know when. Probably when I'm done with everything else (yeah, when the band!verse and the urban fantasy thing goes away, and the HanMin... yeah. right). Everything else = my challenges.

So... there you are. Random post is random.

Oh, And [info]sunfire1216, didn't you write a sequel to the drabble I wrote for you? I thought you had....

Time to celebrate

So, earlier this month, I posted this list of goals.

I actually did one, as of Wednesday night.

I had a blast. I remember thinking it wasn't much - only the two of us there - but I have since been able to work on the one story I have had in my head for a while. Character charts are coming along - I'll add pictures, even if I change it to be original - and I'm actually excited about this.

I have ideas, things are flowing...

I'm stunned. And relieved.

I have a list of books I want to look for. I just need to... do it.

writer's block
So I was talking about my fandoms with [info]mi_iseul - well, about friending memes, and why we don't do them - and went to find this post.

I decided it should be updated - and with the last three, brings the total up to 31 fandoms I've written in, however briefly (I'd say four, but I haven't actually written the PoT/CSI: Miami crossover yet).

In nearly 26 years, that's not so bad.

ETA: I wonder if I can write that crossover, without writing the first part?

melancholy
Just got back from my walk. It was lovely, just me and my Korean boy bands (Arashi never came up), for half an hour. Wore me out, because right after that, we went to visit Larry's parents, and I nearly nodded off while we were talking to them. Rather embarrassing.

I didn't get done all I wanted to, but I did get some done. It will be enough.

I also called Katrina... I wish I had been there today. I really do.

Strange...

writer's block
I had a sudden urge this morning, and so, I'm going to post this.

This is my first (and probably last) request post.

I will do my best at returning a finished story in a decent time frame.

Please keep in mind:
No smut
Fandoms listed in tags are what I can write (with the possible exception of SG-1 - I make NO promises with that one)
Let me know: if AU is okay, character/pairing you want, universe (if applicable)
Prompts are nice but not necessary

Requests currently in the works (even if the works are in my head):

[info]hakkais_shadow - Arashi/DBSK crossover
[info]skyangel2009 - JunHo/Kibum AU, BFFery (Creepy Messages, one to go)
[info]xcorpusdelictix - JaeChul, play (Nurse Kim)
Nyleve (FF.Net) - Bump in the Night (PoT AU)
[info]reader_a - YunHo/Kibum, surprises (Conversation While Blindfolded)
[info]g_myzo - KyuHyun/Yesung, in which KyuHyun gets to be a hero

I forgot

cute but evil (Ohtori)
I have posted these goals, forgetting a very important thing.

To make them S.M.A.R.T.

I have good friends who remind me of this (thank you, [info]wiccanlilly).

To recap, for me (these are from here):

S: Specific
M: Measurable
A: Attainable
R: Realistic
T: Timely

So.

Specific. As in: write at least one fic a day between now and the end of the year, exceptions for Sunday and Christmas. It doesn't even have to be on the computer. But it does need to be finished.

Measurable. I can point to it and say "that is done."

Attainable. I can write one fic a day (unless one gets away from me and gets long. In which case I'll get as much done as I can, and move on to the next one on the next day).

Realistic. Much more so than before. some days, I might be pushing myself, but that's okay, too.

Timely. In other words, by 12/31/2008.

And, the ones I really want to get done:

Fudomine: since I have the Manga out of the library. I have at least eight (I think) ideas.

I want to finish the Mafia!verse stuff, too, which means some editing, but the SiChun can wait for a bit.

And I want to write the next part of contracts.

I think that's it, so...

That's the plan. I'd best get on it.

Because I want to show it off

I have a new icon.

Isn't [info]skyangel2009 awesome for making it for me?

Fallen behind

I have, mostly because I am trying so hard to achieve my goals - and I am not getting on the computer before noon.

It might kill me tomorrow - they're doing sprints in the morning - but I won't do it. Besides, I need the time to finish outlining.

Anyway, a few things happened.

Wednesday night, I got home from book group, got on the computer a bit, and then went up to bed. It turned out that Elyssa had thrown up - and slept through it. She got up about an hour later, crying, so we dumped her sheets and blankets and lamby in the washer and her in the bath (it was caked in her hair), and put her in her sleeping bag between the bed. She threw up one more time, and then slept the night. She felt well enough to go to her Halloween party at preschool yesterday.

Maggie's parade was this morning, and she looked so cute! They had some darn cute costumes, too - one of her classmates was a nearly exact replica (and [info]angel_katchan, someone went as... is his name Domo? the big brown square thing? I laughed out loud at that) of Harry Potter. After the parade, I went back to her classroom, changed her into normal clothes, and we went home.

Another of her classmates (who dressed as the Scarecrow from Wizard of Oz) had invited the whole family over for pizza and to go trick or treating, so we went over there just as it started to get dark. Walked over - they just live behind us. Scott eventually went home with Taran to handle people at the door, and we went for a hour. We hit three streets (including ours) with... oh, probably 15 kids. Elyssa held everyone's hand but mine, actually squirming out of my hold when she had someone else's hand to hold!

They came out like bandits. Seriously, a huge stash of candy - we'll go through it tomorrow.

And now, I need to get some sleep, or I'll never get up for Nano in the morning. Wahoo! It finally begins!

Goals

I finally got them all done.

A bit of a refresher: I took the ideas for how to make these goals S.M.A.R.T, and powerful from the Top Achievement website. It helped.

I also got the idea of how to do these from Scott:

1. is Daily: used to create or eliminate a habit
2. is weekly: what isn't daily
3. is monthly: a once-a-month occurance, or something I'd like to get done within a month
4. is yearly: a long term goal, usually with begin and finish dates
5. is an event, something like: vote in the November 2008 elections or something.

So. On to the goals.
In six different areas )

Well, there they are. Some - most, I hope - of these are on my 101 in 1001 list, but the rest are things I need to get done, too.

Wish me luck!

Friends

live crazy
I've fallen out of touch with a couple of friends, and I need to get back in touch with them.

Well, actually, I've done that with two of them (thankfully), and just need to call Erin to make it the three I wish I hadn't fallen out of touch with.

So, we had dinner with Kemal and his partner Bobby (guessing on the spelling) last night. It was FUN. Kemal is one of my best friends from high school, someone I had always enjoyed hanging around with. I'm not a good correspondant - not a very good friend, in some ways - so it was nice to send an email and get a response back. The upshot - dinner.

Bobby is NICE. I don't remember Robbi (the former partner) being less than nice, but I don't remember him much at all. We did a lot of reminiscing, talked a little politics (without it being explosive - considering my mother was there, a feat), and just got to know Bobby, and got reaquainted with Kemal.

Scott made the most fantastic dinner, too; the Garlic roasted chicken (the house smelled of Garlic for hours, because Scott had to roast it. Mmmm. I'm so making chicken stock out of the remains of that chicken. And then Chicken noodle soup. Just. Yum.) was fantastic, the potatoes were unbelievable, and the salad Kemal brought was lovely, and the dressing fantastic (Taran tried to eat just that, and forget the potatoes and the beans!).

It was a lovely evening. I'm so glad we managed to have them over this weekend! I've been wanting to meet Bobbi since the former partner (aparently) made off with Kemal's car and his dog.... So I learned something new last night - Colorado considers livestock (dogs, etc.) to be possessions - legally, or something. So they went and got the dog back.

Anyway - we got a return invitation, for after the holidays, and I can't wait. It'll be fun.

I missed the wedding reception (open house) - Scott and mom went over - which was sad, and it turns out that Ryan (he was the one who got married)'s little brother's wife was disappointed I wasn't there. We have this odd little relationship - she's very cool - in which we talk every time we meet. I would have liked to see her. The last time we spoke was at the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby, and I said we'd have them for dinner (I think they were in the middle of moving or something) - and I never called. So embarrassing. So I'll track them down and call, and have them over sometime in the next month.

So that is my report on last night. Not a bad evening.

I got this from [info]sakia_chan, on which I was 16.

I can only send you the questions if you promise to do the meme!

1. Next to each number, write only the name of the person who fits.
2. Answer one question with one name.
3. Don't tell the questions to anyone who isn't doing the meme.

I am TIRED.

Tired.

Very long description of very long day )
And that is it. I have got to go to bed. Hopefully, I'll have an easier time falling asleep than I did last night.

Good night.

tomorrow

  • Aug. 10th, 2008 at 9:33 PM
forget housework!
I have a lot of things I need to do tomorrow. List. ^_~

I know, I haven't done one in a while, but I need this, I think. And I'm so ignoring that icon....

  • Straighten living room

  • Straighten Family room

  • recover kitchen from company

  • Call Fiona re: her son's shoes

  • laundry - fold, wash whites (at least, more if I can): three loads so far

  • Print up outline of Triangle to date, and retire it (again)

  • sync up ipod

  • books to library

  • find books supposed to go back to library (and find out what I need to look for)

  • set up family information binder re: House of Order

  • Pay for lunches for Maggie

  • Pack Maggie's backpack

  • Lay out clothes for her to wear on Tuesday

  • Call Erin - or at least email her

  • Attend Maggie's Open house for school

I actually made some progress on things I wanted to do today, although not as much as I'd hoped. I got my scriptures read, got caught up on the Relief Society lessons, and finished the second chapter of PMG. The next one will be hard - those are the actual lessons.

I didn't get letters written, didn't get my journal written in, didn't get the kids baby books updated....

But I'm trying not to think of that. And I need to get Maggie's updated; her birthday is in nine days!

So, that's what I need to do.

If I get most of that done, I'll get on the computer and try to get some stuff written. If I don't... I'll try not to get on the computer at all.

Yeah, right.
