I went back and looked at the notes for the first part of Misunderstanding, and quite literally rolled my eyes.

This fandom - Prince of Tennis - makes me write the most ridiculously long author's notes of any fandom I have ever written. I don't know why, but there it is. It's rather frustrating, too.

So....

My first introduction to Fanfiction for Prince of Tennis was in the form of Dream Novels. This is very, VERY odd to someone who's never read them, but it's really quite fun.

The site I found them on is called Just Once, and I got the link from the Wikipedia entry on Prince of Tennis. As it never occured to me to actually look for the Japanese name (not knowing it, of course) on ff.net. I'm fairly certain that my view of Atobe came from one of my favorite DNs, called "Illuminating the Umbra". I'm pretty sure I can track all of my characterizations of him - and the reason he keeps showing up in my fics - to that one DN.

Anyway, what all that means is that my first fanfics in Prince of Tennis had that flavor to them. The first one I wrote - was horrid. I had the characters all wrong (gee, surprise, as I'd only seen, what the first four episodes of the dubbed Anime - imagine my surprise when I heard Fuji's real voice - and read through volume 15 of the Manga), and it really was horrid.

The second one, though, I was pretty proud of. Staring Gakuto (don't ask why, I don't know), it actually had a reason for Atobe to be in there. And I'm not too sure about the characterizations in this one, either, but they're better than the first.

Yes, that made me laugh. Anyway, here's the start of it - let me know if you're at all interested in seeing more.
