But [info]skyangel2009 wanted to know...

Yes. Dead.

So, I understand [info]skyangel2009 a little bit.

And I forgot to eat lunch again.

I do have an excuse this time, working up a voting post for [info]pr_classics, and I still have to do some research on it, but still.

That also explains the dead brain.

I'm going to need more PR icons.

I just got the biggest compliment of my life.

So there's this author in the PR fandom, pretty well known, extremely well written (I love her Space fics, especially), known as Starhawk to most people.

Anyway, she said this about Superhero:

"Squee! I love that story so much! I was trying to explain it to someone a couple days ago, and finally I was like, "Basically she does everything that everyone wants to have happen but can't write themselves because it wouldn't be plausible and she makes it work." You're magical!"

... I think I need to reread it. It's been a long time.

I'm helping out on a new comm: [info]pr_classics

To explain:
Classic, adj.
1. Belonging to the highest rank or class.
2. Serving as the established model or standard.
3. Having lasting significance or worth; enduring.

Power Rangers Classics Awards aim to showcase those stories and authors that have made a lasting impact in the fandom, or that are read years after their publication. “Best”, usually the most common word in fanfic awards, is a world you won’t see here: a classic is a classic.

The first rules of the PR Classics Awards will be Old School only - MMPR, PRZ and PRT before Passing of the Torch. We are aware that this cutoff is arbitrary; it has also been chosen for administrative ease.

PR Classics Awards give equal place to stories dealing with straight or non-straight characters, of traditional or non-traditional gender, and similar. (Translation: het, slash, femslash, whatever.) Nominating or voting here, as well as accepting nominations, constitute an agreement with this policy. Nominees who disagree may either disqualify themselves or have their disagreement listed by their nomination.

We are still discussing some points relating to rules and management - please see the latest discussion post for details. Nominations should begin before the end of September and will stay open for three months, unless prolonged. Voting will begin in tandem with nominations and will continue for a month after.

We are looking for people who may help in creating banners for the winners. Please contact [info]hagar_972 if you're interested.

My writing to-do list

writer's block
There will be overlap, just so you know:

SuJu 100 Challenge: 70 left to do.
[info]50ficlets, TVXQ: 30 left to do.
[info]alphabetasoup, Arashi: 26 left to do.

Of the Triangle!verse: I have 17 of 55 + 6 done.

Of the Mutant!verse: 8 of TVXQ, 16 of SuJu left to write.

Of the Mafia!verse: 11 of SuJu (hopefully, no more of TVXQ. It was just too bizarre).

Of random rp: 2 of TVXQ. Probably. One might be SuJu.

Other random things:

PoT Crack exchange
Things that go Bump and Bumping Back
Sakura Sake
The Contract Thing
No Walk in the Park
Sequel to Superhero (or something in which I can use the commando team I created)

That's it. That's what I have to work on.

EDIT: Oh, and rewrite Haunted.

Sometimes it's okay to pimp yourself out. Post a list of your top five fics favorite you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the BEST things you've written, but what you LOVE most. Then tag five other people to do the same.

1. Duet. The first one. It's funny, in that the person Ciaran was based on... I haven't talked to in years, and yet, she's still the person I think of, since she heped me create Twilight Warrior. I just... really have fun with this fic. And the song is absolutely beautiful.

2. Shattered. Because I wrote it in six weeks, and it's just... cool. Not always my best writing, but I really had fun with it.

3. Detective Work. Originally written as a fanfic, my mother suggested I change that. I don't know that it makes that much of a difference (no one knows the fandom, anyway, not any more, which is a shame because it was so fun), but it's one of my favorite stories, regardless.

4. I don't know if this counts, but a friend did a round robin, and I got one chapter. The story never got finished, as far as I know, but I really enjoyed my character's contribution: Suprise! Jahzea.

5. Commando Team, a PR fic. This was a side fic to the sequel to I Wonder what it's Like to be a Superhero, which was more interesting than the fic (which I never wrote anyway). But I had fun playing with Hunter, and his history, etc.; this is all based on a fic by Sparticus, which can be read (hopefully) here.

I won't tag anyone; but I'd really like to see people's comments about their own writing.

Question

For anyone who might know...

Was Scorpina... killed (best word, I guess) in the golden light thing at the end of the Space season? I could go look, but I don't feel like fighting my children for the use of the TV.

The Writer's Guide doesn't have that she was - it would be really useful if she wasn't, actually....

Decisions made

ohno - thoughtful
I hate making them, but they were made.

The community is gone - no one protested, so I deleted it. The journal is now my arashi fic archive - if you're interested in reading that, you'll have to go to [info]captainohno. You can friend it, if you like. I will link to all the stuff on my main journal, too, so it's easier that way. Um...

Oh, and it's on the side bar, too.

Chances are good that I'll do the same for my TM Journals - or maybe I'll just do that with them, anyway, and work with the custom friends. Heh. I like doing that. Put my non-[info]fanfic100 Prince of Tennis fics on [info]rokkakuredcap, and my Power Ranger based fics on [info]blackt0green.

I'll have to seriously consider that.

I might have already decided it....

A list!

ohno - thoughtful
The things I must work on, because I'm sick of having them hang around.

1. Not Guilty
2. Arashi's tower
3. Project
4. Things that go Bump (Move from yWriter to Word. That's just stupid)
5. Haunted (Outline)
6. New World (outline)

And in that order, darn it. I am going to finish these.

If I get bored, I'll work on the cpg prompts for my Fudomine claim, and... does anyone know of a Crack Generator for Final Fantasy VII? Because that might help, too.

I have about six minutes.

Freak Out!
List of things to work on, and I am going to be ruthless on this.

Bump in the night: I have GOT to get moving on this. It's bordering on the ridiculous.
Life Must Go On: I can ask the hard questions now. But I need to finish it.
Reconciliation: I need to figure out what things will happen on the anniversaries.
Challenge fic: Just... get it finished.
Arashi's tower: I need to figure out how to make this work - and get Lisa's comments on my palm.
Project: Something to take up a good 1k words, from Ryou's pov. Something to make Sanada want to follow him one Wednesday night.

Set aside until I feel like doing them or completely toss them:
Friendship: Inui still needs to play the captain. adn then they have to do something about Eiji.
Unwilling Return: Seriously? Needs to be retired. Not worth it to keep going. Ryou's stubborn, and Saeki isn't any better. That just isn't going to work out.
Destruction: Yeah - either write on it, or retire it.

Outlines:
Haunted: YES. Must do.
New World: just... something. Anything?

There's probably more, but right now, I'm missing CSI:MIami. So, I'm off.

I'll do everything else tomorrow.

to-do: done list

writer's block
So - of the things to do on my last list, these are what I've managed to finish. Quality is... not so important, just as long as I get started.

  1. Outline - including notes for each letter and pictures to go with - and lines I'd like to use in a few of the letters

  2. Printed: Outline for Bump the Night - good to have, so I know what goes next.

  3. Printed: [info]hagar_972's email - good, so I can at least hit the main parts, and then start filling things in.

  4. Started the crossover - I'm still not sure how it's going to work out

  5. wrote some on challenge (or whatever I called it) story. Still no clue how to get it from where I am to the ending scene. Nothing is presenting itself.

  6. Made some progress on the AC fic, and I have an idea for what follows (yeah, get Rufus involved. Heh. That'll kill one more fic.)

I think that's everything.... Now to just type it up, right?

Right.

Nominated

So, thanks to [info]sunfire1216, I found out I have - not one, but TWO nominations at [info]pr_heroes (this post) for "Superhero" (which is a shortened title, really - it comes straight from Matchbox 20's "Real World").

One makes sense. Best Space story (only I'm going up against Starhawk - no way I'll win that one). The other one?

Best original character.

What?

I mean, the main character in that is, in fact, a canon character. Seriously. So I'm a little flabberghasted.

I am, however, VERY glad I'm not going up against [info]hagar_972. "Constellations" is a fantastic fic!

But seriously - that I was nominated sort of boggles my mind. It's been years - like, three or four, or longer - since I posted that.

Was going to make this two posts, but.... no. And this is it, folks. I ran out of steam and ideas, and so if you care to go on, take it and run. Just let me know so I can read?

Zhane and Daniel. Not a bad mix. Never leave him alone with Jack. That would be explosive.

Next time: conference (in which they never get to accelerated healing...).
