Well, that was a mistake

Seriously.

WHY did I click on the ad?

You know, those stupid ads they have (in this case, on my facebook) that they think will cater to your interests?

They were right, this once. I clicked on Vermont College of Fine Arts, and suddenly, desperately, want to do this.

They have a Translation emphasis.

Oh, I WANT to do this. Badly. Chances of it happening?

Slim. None. I want to study something I have a hope of using in case of emergency... but hey. Translation? Something, yeah?

I can't begin to express how much I would love to do this - the main problem, of course, the residencies, twice a year... for 10 days.

Um. No?

What would I do with the kids? Maybe if everyone were in school....

I don't know. I can dream, just a little? Maybe?

SNOW.

Freak Out!
When they said this morning that school was cancelled, I scoffed. Seriously, there was less than 1/4 inch on the deck! And I went to school here, I know what it's like.

So when I looked out while making breakfast, and it was really coming down.

Yeah. no school, and no walking, either.

Well, after breakfast my darling and less that sane children decided to go out and play.

I'm glad they did, because not long after they came in (to hot chocolate, yes, I CAN be a good mom!), the wind picked up and the blizzard conditions they'd talked about came in.

Whew. Sometimes, they know what they're talking about.

The problem is, they can forecast the 8-16 inches like they did - and we get a skiff.

I guess the School district lucked out today!

Goals

light shine
I finally got them all done.

A bit of a refresher: I took the ideas for how to make these goals S.M.A.R.T, and powerful from the Top Achievement website. It helped.

I also got the idea of how to do these from Scott:

1. is Daily: used to create or eliminate a habit
2. is weekly: what isn't daily
3. is monthly: a once-a-month occurance, or something I'd like to get done within a month
4. is yearly: a long term goal, usually with begin and finish dates
5. is an event, something like: vote in the November 2008 elections or something.

So. On to the goals.
In six different areas )

Well, there they are. Some - most, I hope - of these are on my 101 in 1001 list, but the rest are things I need to get done, too.

Wish me luck!

Oh.

writer's block
I found a class I want to take.

Problem? It's on Tuesday nights, starting in January.

I think, maybe, I'll wait and see if they offer it again.

If only I'd seen it before; it was on Wednesday nights starting in September.

Well. Maybe I'll take the Character's class - and see if there's someone in the area who'd like to take it with me.

There's also a one-night class that would be fun - from 6:30 to 8:30 on a Wednesday in November... - so maybe that one?

Could be good for Nano, you know? And might be a nice break.
