I've been LAZY.
Yesterday, we left pretty early - well, okay, by seven - and pretty much drove right through. I would like to say we had no throwing up, but no such luck: Elyssa threw up about an hour after we left, and Maggie threw up after breakfast - the muffin, but not the Yogurt, and I'd love to know how she did that.
Elyssa threw up again just before we stopped for lunch.
But the best part - none of it got on the car. Both girls got their bowls up in time, so it was easy enough to just dump and wash the bowls.
Scott is amazing.
So, we got to Jay and Shana's just before four, and had a nice visit with them.
I also managed to talk to my Dad; I've had problems with my jaw lately. It hurts on the left, especially when yawning or chewing something difficult, whether hard or chewy. So. He told me how to make sure it's not something ... serious.
This morning, I woke up at 6:30, and lazed around until 10:30. I'm not sure at what time I actually showered. But most of the kids were dressed before Scott. We left at 11:30 to get Maggie's Christmas gift - her grandparents got her a dance pad thing, only to realize that we would have to have a WII to use it.
We don't.
So, off to Wal-Mart, and she came away with a Princess craft desk and a hula hoop - something she's wanted since playing with one in gym at school. Not bad.
This afternoon, I read through "Shattered" - it's depressing when I do that and get jealous of a fic I wrote....
I want to write something like that again. I really do.
Anyway, so that's what today was like. I got to see some TV, but not as much as I usually might - or rather, not as much as I usually do. All to the better, I'm sure.
I'm going to have a lot of weight gain this trip. Good thing I'm starting the make-over next Monday.
Oh. I remember what I did. I put together a Hannah Montana puzzle that my children gave up on - because it's a little too advanced for them. But I managed! I love puzzles.
And I definitely prefer the Dvorak layout to QWERTY. It's just... I like it.

I had a couple of "a-ha" moments (none of which actually had anything to do with the group) the last couple of days.
1. It is not Janowrimo - it is Jillnowrimo. MY novel writing month. I have my doubts about making the full word count, as I am still rather slow and not very... proficent at this new layout yet, but I will try anyway.
2. Speaking of that, I think I need a bad guy for the project for January. And, in fact, I think I want it to be a girl. She needs to have specfic goals, etc. I found a great book at the library - well, I don't know how good it is, but the title is great: Bullies, Bastards, and Bitches.
Seriously, how could I pass that up?
3. I'm reading books on writing again. I don't know if that's a good thing or not. At least, I have one out of the library, and two more on hold (note: Janet Evanovitch's book was useless).
4. I think I have an idea for the sequel to End of a Dream. It's still pretty... nebulous, so I'll let it pecolate and see if anything comes of it.
5. On a subject not writing, the radio in the van doesn't work. I HOPE it's just the fuse, like dh thinks. Otherwise, I'll be mad.
6. Good news! Elyssa's preschool started up again, and she went this morning. It's at the church, which isn't too far from the preschool, and that helps. I just hope things turn out okay for Patti!
7. I think that's everything. Now to go back to transcribing.

Someone remind me why I'm doing this, please (in reference to the Dvorak keyboard).
I woke up this morning to have a prayer with Scott, and Taran woke up. So no going back to sleep for me. After I got Maggie out the door, Taran became unbearable - he'd gotten up too early, too - I put him to bed, about an hour early.
And then I crashed on the couch. And slept.
I slept pretty well last night; got to sleep fairly close to 10:30.
I'm just so TIRED of being tired! Hopefully the doctor can give me some clue about why I feel so listless.
ETA: And now I have to come up with something about unity.

This is amazingly slow.
I thought about it today; if I am normal in this, it will take a month to relearn. And about 134 hours of practice to get up to speed.
Wow.
So, my DocsToGo went out again, and this time, I lost all record of what was on my PDA.
That means I have to replace everything.
It will take forever!

I decided to learn the Dvorak keyboard layout.
It's very different; I'm typing amazingly slowly right now. They say - those who have made the switch - it takes about a month to get it down.
Well... I need something to do since I'm not doing Nano.
Wow, this is fun!
ETA: It also is a little painful. But then, isn't anything new - and worth while?
